Julie Taylor

Whilst Dungaroos is the first nursery Julie has founded herself, childcare is far from unfamiliar to her. Julie's passion for childcare started many years ago when she qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 1992. In 2005, she returned to education and studied at Winchester University, completing her BA in Primary Practice in 2011.

From the moment she started in the young childcare industry, Julie knew it was for her. Since exiting education, Julie founded & ran an after-school care club in Basingstoke, Jack-in-a-Box. While at Jack-in-a-Box, she raised her two amazing children through childhood - they're now Co-Directors of Dungaroos

Dungaroos is a new and exciting journey for Julie. Dungaroos in Winchester is just the start of her vision to expand the Dungaroos family across the South East of England over the coming years!

Karla loves to wear dungarees. Her favourite colour dungaree is blue, but she also likes pink. She likes to wear dungarees because she likes the pouch at the front of them, it makes her feel close to her 'mumma'.

So this is the story of how Dungaroos was formed. We believe that both a kangaroo and Dungarees both have the security, nurture and happiness of being an active child. Karla enjoys going on lots of adventures and she will be telling everyone about her adventures over the coming months in the form of a journal and books.

Dungaroos provides children with an early years experience that is centred on educating the whole child. We give children time and space in which to learn and develop and offer an adaptable environment where we encourage the children to make choices, and allowing them time to explore activities in both the indoor and outdoor environments. At Dungaroos we value the teaching and learning opportunities available through the outdoor environment, which offers unique opportunities that cannot be replicated indoors.
